The bowl shape on this spoon is similar to the classic shape you see on most spoons, wood or otherwise. Each spoon is unique, however, and this is most noticeable in the handles. This one has a chunky handle, feels good in the hand, appropriate and comfortable for left and right handed people, enough curve to position the bowl at the ideal angle for spooning up whatever needs spooned up!
Sometimes I get lucky and find great pieces of wood in the wild, and the chunk this was born of came from a pile of firewood next to a firepit at a campsite we’d just canoed into. Obviously, I couldn’t burn it.
